The attendants in a wedding are very special people. They hold a unique and important place in the lives of the bride and groom. It's a good idea to show the bridesmaids and groomsmen your gratitude and affection by giving each a special gift to commemorate the occasion.
Some brides and grooms give each attendant a gift suited to their personal interests. Others choose one gift to give to all of the female attendants and one for all the male attendants. And some give the same gift to everyone. Giving everyone the same gift but have each gift monogrammed with the initials of the recipient is one way to treat everyone equally but still personalize their gifts.
Local shops offer plenty of ideas for special attendant gifts. Shopping for gifts for your close friends can be a fun excursion that takes the focus off of you for awhile. Gift ideas range from the whimsical to the collectible. One elegant suggestion is crystal pilsners for beer. There are also lovely crystal rose bowls for the women and scrimshaw reproduction keyrings and business card holders for the men. They carry a pretty silverplate compact with two mirrors that makes a good attendant gift if you have a lot of bridesmaids.
Most shops offer a very uplifting and attractive choice of attendant gifts, especially, though not exclusively for women. One recent bride bought beautiful 100% silk drawstring bags for her bridesmaids and filled them with jewelry. They also make gift boxes or baskets filled with natural bath and body products. These gifts are truly unique and memorable. More traditional gifts like candle holders and photo frames are still popular today.
Also consider that you don't have to give a tangible gift. Some couples give their attendants tickets to sporting events or concerts or other performances. We suggest bringing your bridesmaids in for a beauty treatment. Treat them to a facial or massage.
Whatever you choose, it should be a special reminder of the bond you share with your closest friends. It should communicate to them how much they mean to you. Let the decision flow from your heart and it will surely be a good one.
